Running Injury Clinic

Welcome to our Running Injury Clinic — a dedicated service tailored specifically for runners who are experiencing pain, injury, or are looking to understand the underlying reasons for recurring issues. Led by a qualified physiotherapist with a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy and Sports Science, and specialised certification in Running Injury Management, this clinic is designed to address the unique biomechanical, musculoskeletal, and training-related challenges that runners face.

Running is a repetitive, high-impact activity that places considerable demands on the body. Our goal is to assess and support each runner in identifying injury-related patterns, optimising movement efficiency, and creating a clear, evidence-based plan for recovery and prevention.

Whether you’re a beginner, recreational runner, or elite athlete, our clinic focuses on helping you stay injury-free and maintain consistent, healthy training — because we believe that prevention is just as important as treatment.

What to expect from our running injury services.

Gait Analysis

Understanding how your body moves when running is essential to diagnosing and addressing injury risk. Gait analysis involves closely examining movement patterns that contribute to the stress placed on injured tissues.

During your consultation, we assess several variables including stride length, step width, and foot landing angles. These factors are reviewed in detail to identify how they may be contributing to your symptoms. By modifying specific elements of your gait, we aim to reduce excessive impact and forces affecting vulnerable structures.

Biomechanical Assessment

As part of your initial consultation, we also conduct a thorough biomechanical screening. This includes examining foot positioning, single-leg stability, control during single-leg squats, hip and ankle flexibility.

These tests help us understand how your skeletal system may be contributing to your current injury or risk profile. Combined with your gait analysis, this data allows us to design a structured and individualised management plan.

Strength & Conditioning

Running places high and repetitive loads on the lower limbs — often between 2 to 8 times your body weight. That’s why muscular strength and endurance are key components in injury prevention.

We use specific screening tools to determine how well your body handles various movement demands. Identifying any muscular weaknesses or imbalances enables us to target and optimise these areas as part of your recovery and training program.

Training Load Management

Inconsistent or excessive training volumes are major contributors to injury. With years of experience working with injured runners, we understand how training patterns can influence injury risk.

We assess your current and past training load to determine how it may be affecting your musculoskeletal system. By doing so, we can help structure a sustainable and balanced running plan that reduces risk and supports your long-term goals.

Why Choose Our Running Injury Clinic?

Our focus is about addressing the root causes of injury and building long-term resilience in the body. By tackling biomechanical issues, strengthening the body, and aligning your training load with your physical capacity, we help reduce the likelihood of recurring injuries. The result? A more consistent training journey — and with it, natural performance improvements.

If you’ve been dealing with persistent or recurring injuries, or simply want to understand your body better as a runner to prevent future injuries, our clinic is here to support your journey to pain-free running.
